Co-founder of the PhTea
The PhTea was co-founded in December 2025 by myself and another PhD student at LPSC to encourage scientific exchange and collaboration within between doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and interns in the team. Since then, we have organized regular meetings where members can present their research, share ideas and discuss challenges they face in their work.
The philosohpy that we wanted to integrate in the PhTea is the following. Since listening about very specific research work might be difficult for people outside of that field to understand, we strongly encourage the audience to ask questions as soon as possible in the presentation to promote a better understanding of the presented topics for everyone,
We also wanted to get better together with anything remotly technical. Therefore, we decided to implement Technical Talks where members can give presentations on technical skills, tools or methodologies that are relevant to our research. Some examples of past Technical Talks include version control with Git, building an HTML documentation with Sphinx, coding tests with Pytest…
